More Investment at Midlands Workwear Business

Based in Telford, MyWorkwear has been supporting businesses across the UK with their bespoke workwear and uniforms for nearly 50 years, and now the company is continuing its recent fast-paced growth thanks to a £190k investment. MyWorkwear is also setting its sights on over £5 million in sales next year as it looks to secure new business from companies looking for personalised workwear and uniforms.

The recent investment has enabled the business to implement a new CRM system, update its customer portal, and purchase further storage facilities and machinery including 3 new embroidery machines. The focus is to ensure, as the business further grows, MyWorkwear can continue to offer the high level of quality and service their customers have come to expect. Eight new roles have also been created within the company covering Marketing, Sales, IT and Customer Services.

James Worthington, co-managing director of MyWorkwear, said: “Over the last few years we have seen really strong year-on-year growth, even through the COVID pandemic. This has been a result of the hard work of our dedicated team and building strong relationships with our customers. The investment has enabled us to complete even more projects aimed at further growth, allowing us to take on more staff and more clients.

Although supplying industries as diverse as hospitality and health, MyWorkwear works particularly closely with businesses in the manufacturing and engineering industry.

James continued “We already work with thousands of first-class companies across the UK, from a wide range of industries, including well-known brands such as Vimto, Morgan Motor Cars, the NHS, Oxford University, Thatchers and Waves. However, we work very closely with many manufacturers, especially in the automotive and aerospace industry, and our team are experts in the uniform and workwear requirements for this area. With this increased capacity we are pleased that we will be able to support even more customers to take pride in their workwear and uniforms.

Recently the business announced its continuing sponsorship of the University of Wolverhampton Racing team and in April is going to be involved in Formula 1 in Schools, with James taking on the role of one of the region judges.

James added: “Having grown from the small manufacturing company started in Telford in 1976, from a personal perspective, it is fantastic to give back to the community by offering so many new jobs in the area. We will also be continuing our support for the manufacturing and engineering industry, focusing on the future generation of engineers through our involvement in various STEM activities. We sponsor the University of Wolverhampton Racing team and support Formula 1 in Schools amongst other initiatives. Plus we will be continuing our support for local charities, such as Hope House, MIND and a Christmas Smile, as well as our national charity, Race Against Dementia.
