Zoi Roupakia (Research Associate, IfM, University of Cambridge) is an AI and machine learning expert with a focus on improving policymaking. She leads a programme focused on understanding the issues that affect the commercialisation of university research via spinouts, including the gender dimension, improving the quality and robustness of available data, and leveraging machine learning science to provide novel and more timely datasets. Prior to joining the IfM, Zoi was a machine learning and technology consultant with several years of experience carrying out multidisciplinary work, including speech synthesis at Google (patent co-inventor on voice conversion), machine learning engineering and data science for start-ups and other companies.
